Junk MattersYou Matter - We Matter - Junk MattersHow our estimates and prices work, what we can and cannot take, and the terms that apply to using this website.
By using junkmatters.ca (the “Site”) you agree to these terms. They are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it.
This is the most important term on the page. Prices shown on the Site — including the minimum charge, the load-size bands, hourly labour rates and any figures on service pages or in the online calculator — are estimates for guidance.
The final price is confirmed once we see the actual job, because volume, weight, access, stairs, distance, sorting and disposal fees all affect it. We confirm the price with you before we start work, and you are free to decline at that point at no cost.
An estimate given by phone, email, text or through a photo submitted on the Site is based on the information supplied. If what we find on site differs materially, we will tell you and re-quote before proceeding.
Bookings are confirmed by us directly. If you need to cancel or reschedule, let us know as early as you reasonably can so we can offer the slot to someone else. Availability varies by area and by season, and any timing we mention is a target rather than a guarantee.
We take most household, yard, renovation and commercial materials. Some items are restricted, need special handling, or carry an additional charge because of how they must be disposed of. Contaminated and hazardous work is handled as a separate, specialised service.
If you are not sure about a specific item, ask us before the booking. We would rather answer the question than turn up unable to take it.
You confirm that you are entitled to have the items removed and that removal will not breach anyone else's rights. Please make sure we can safely reach the items. We take care on every job, but we are not responsible for pre-existing damage or for wear that is unavoidable in moving large or heavy items through a tight space, and we will always point out a risk before we take it on.
Once items are loaded they are treated as disposed of. Check that nothing you want to keep is in the pile before we leave.
We sort loads and route usable goods and recyclable materials to the appropriate places wherever we reasonably can. We cannot guarantee a specific outcome for a specific item, because that depends on its condition and on what the receiving facilities accept at the time.
You may use the Site for genuine enquiries about our services. Do not attempt to disrupt it, gain unauthorised access to any part of it, or submit unlawful, misleading or abusive content through its forms.
The text, photographs, before-and-after images and design on this Site are ours and may not be copied or reused without permission. Job photos are our own work, not stock images.
Photos you send us are used to prepare and carry out your estimate. We will not publish a photo of your property as marketing without your permission. How we handle what you send is set out in our Privacy Policy.
We keep the Site as accurate as we can, including its prices and service areas, but content can change and errors happen. Nothing on the Site is a binding offer, and we may update prices, services or coverage at any time.
We carry insurance and are registered with WorkSafeBC. To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising out of the Site or the services is limited to the amount you paid for the job in question, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. This does not limit any rights you have under British Columbia consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.
The Site links to third-party services, including the booking form on our contact page. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites.
We may update these terms. The version on this page, with the date shown above, is the one that applies.
